http://rotaryinsider.com Finally brought her in for dyno tuning. I just wanted a conservative tune that was safe across all RPM ranges. A few months later I found out the fuel pump filter was clogged up. When the filter was changed, the tune from this dyno session ended up being way too rich. So I think another 20 whp would be easy to get out of the car without any other changes. BTW the greddy turbo doesn't flow enough air for the engine (this turbo kit was designed for 6 psi boost, and I'm running it almost twice that). Assuming there is a 15-20% drivetrain loss on the rx-8, that puts me at 312 - 326 hp with a very conservative tune with that clogged fuel pump. Car is running with standard 93 gas. If Adam Marrilaga were the ultimate yirdaki technician, his older brother Quincey Matjaki must surely come a close second. Matjaki has come a long way since I first heard him play yirdaki. Perhaps he was out of practice then, or has improved considerably since, but whichever way it might be, this clip kicks arse. Listen to Matjaki's technical execution as well as the pace he manages to get up to, he maintains very strong technique even when pumping it at blistering speed. The finesse of Larry Winiwini and the precision of Marrilaga are apparent in Matjaki's style of play. It will be hard to let go of this stick, a stunning instrument made by Bruce Burrngupurrngu with concentrated power. The acoustics are finely structure with outstanding resolution, super-sweet overtone note, and ochre-rendered Dhalwangu miny'tji to die for. This is a yirdaki of high pedigree and cultural integrity, the result of a Burrngupurrngu-Djul'djul husband and wife team. Burrngupurrngu and Djul'djul talked at length over the phone about this yirdaki before I finally set eyes on this spectacular piece of work.

Phil Purser's awesome "V HELL" 2JZ powered 6-cylinder turbocharged VL Calais was out playing at the December 23 test and tune day at the Perth Motorplex. The car had some wild runs on its way to producing two personal best times for the team recording both 9.11 and 9.13 second times for the quarter mile. http://mazdamaniac.com Just upgraded my GReddy turbo kit to the MazdaManiac upgrade. It is a specially modified Garrett GT4071R(WG) turbocharger with a machined compressor back plate and specially adapted flanges to fit the GReddy manifold and downpipe. It's a drop in replacement for the anemic greddy turbo. We also upgraded the fuel injectors to four 380 cc, and two 650 cc.

This pass was somewhere in the 11.5 range at 126mph
